Generating Tasks

On most boards you'll find a New button in the top menu. It opens a modal where you can use the PO agent to help you write tasks.

Just select the task type (Task, Bug, Improvement, Epic, or Story), and give a brief description of what needs to be built — for example: "We need to add a button to delete users from the management panel." You can also select a group of team members who could be assigned to the task, and specific contexts, to help the PO agent understand the capabilities and context behind the request. When you click Generate, the PO agent turns that short input and its context into a detailed task, complete with a summary, business impact, acceptance criteria, and subtasks. Beyond your input, the agent also has access to the knowledge base built up from your project's interactions and code (if you've connected your repositories), plus search tools to look up relevant information.

You can wait for the task to be generated in real time, or choose to have it created automatically in your Backlog (or Product Delivery Board, for Epics and Stories) and be notified by email when the agent finishes.

Once a task is created you're free to edit it — adjusting or adding information as you see fit. You can also edit with AI: give a short instruction and let the agent update the existing task content for you, including adding, updating, or removing subtasks.

note

Research tasks (for investigations and spikes) aren't available through AI generation, since they don't fit the same business/bug/improvement classification the agent uses. Create one directly with Fill in manually instead — it still lands on the Backlog like any other operational task type.
